eSuba win GIGABYTE League

The second season of Playzone.cz GIGABYTE League has finished with eSuba on the top, as they defeating nEophyte 2-0 in the Grand Final.

The second edition of the GIGABYTE League in 2011 took place this Saturday and was once again held at the PGCC Velký Špalíček cyber cafe in Brno, which saw the top four teams of the season attending.

The reigning champions from eSuba.LG surprisingly did not qualify for the finals, meaning a new champion was to be found between the four attendees: eSuba, nEophyte, eEriness and eXtatus. It all began in a group stage, where nEophyte started out by winning eSuba 16-14 on de_inferno. The two teams won the rest of their games, meaning nEophyte finished on top of the group, while eSuba finished second.

With the first-place finish, nEophyte advanced directly to the Grand Final, while eSuba played eXtatus for the last spot. With 16-3 on de_inferno, eSuba progressed to face nEophyte for first place, while eXtatus would place eEriness for third.

The Grand Final started on de_tuscan, where eSuba managed a 16-9 win. On the second map, de_train, nEophyte came no closer to the nine rounds they scored on the first map, as eSuba went to dominate them on the Terrorists side, scoring 12 rounds to 3. As CT, eSuba had no difficulties scoring four straight rounds to win it 2-0 in maps.

The next time you will be able to see eSuba and the other Czech teams in action will be at ASUS CS 1.6 Underground on Sunday next week. The Czech WCG qualifier will follow on July 7, taking place in Prague at the PGCC Novy Smichov cyber café.
